Upon receipt of the customer calling in a STAT Pickup, Dispatch immediately locates, via GPS tracking, the closets driver to the pickup location. The driver is verbally issued the pickup and delivery location and is informed to begin driving, that an order will be sent momentarily. The driver receives a waybill (order) with all pertinent information for that particular order. Once the driver has picked up and delivered the product, he/she will get a signature from the receiver, along with typed first and last name. This information is digitally dated, and time stamped and appears in the order. This is a requirement of Eagle Express of SC and we will not deviate from this policy unless the customer allows tech codes to be used as a means of identification. Driver will place product in the appropriate cooler or room temperature bag according to the direction of the lab tech handling him/her the product. Drivers are equipped with 2 coolers, 1 for frozen product and 1 for refrigerated and with a zip top shoulder bag for room temperature labs.

Exactly as a STAT, but with more flexibility with the time frame unless otherwise requested.

We arrive at the designated pickup time, however, if a STAT is called in within the vicinity of the driver, we will usually have the same driver pick up both. The STATs are our primary concern. Drivers are aware that no stops can be made while working a STAT. In other words, a STAT may be added to a Routine, but a Routine may NOT be added to a STAT unless the pickup location is the same.

Exactly as STAT, Routine or Scheduled, however, we do request additional time as we typically allow drivers to operate from their homes in order to be with their families. STAT orders remain a priority and will be dispatched to the closets driver.
